I was born and raised in Malaysia and started performing music at the age of seven. By fifteen,
I had toured across Asia with a harp ensemble. I obtained my Diploma in Electronics, Computer and Communications Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic upon graduating high school. Five years later, I went back to school with tremendous support from Mr. Sim Wong Hoo and Creative Technology Ltd.
During my time at Berklee College of Music, MA, I collaborated with various artists from around the world, and performed for some very special people. Upon graduation, I moved to the Bay Area and went through a series of immigration processes. I earned my United States citizenship in 2010 through enlistment, and served with the 82nd Airborne Division Band at Fort Bragg, NC, for three years. There, I married my partner, Gary Kaplan.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, we moved to Sonoma County, CA, where I was employed as a Telecoms Systems Test Engineer. During this time, I pursued my Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems online from Boston University and cared for my husband who was battling Lymphoma since 2012. On January 17, 2017, Gary succumbed to the disease.
My journey continues...
